Adapt and Conquer

Life Update

Hello everyone! I’m finally writing another blog for all of you. I have decided to make some changes in my life. I recently made the decision to retire from being a DJ. There are many factors that prompted me to make this decision. The main reason is my loss of passion for DJing. In the past, DJing was by far one of the most exciting and exhilarating things I’ve ever done. I enjoyed spending hours each week downloading and listening to new music. To me it was important to keep up with all the current music and be ready for any gig at any time. I would spend many hours before an event planning and making a playlist that would be my guide for the event. The playlist would always be changed during the event and sometimes it barely resembled the list I created by the end of the event. I had a way to make the lyrics of songs tell a story and that was part of my unique style. In today’s world everything is fast-paced and this actually transcends into the DJ world. Quick mixing is pretty much the norm today. Only parts of the song are played and during an event you would play over 200 different songs. To me music is created to be heard in the way it is designed. I guess I’m just old school.

Let me tell you about what I am passionate about now. A few months ago I got a 3D printer. I did a lot of research and ended up getting a Qidi X-CF. In preparation for the printer I learned how to design precision 3D parts in Blender. Within two or three weeks I became very comfortable using the software and feel I can design almost anything at this point. I am trained as a computer aided designer for 2D drawings, so the transition was not that difficult. I will post some of my designs on the products page in the near future. I have many future plans and I will share them as I finish.

I am continually growing in my Christian faith. I started the MCheyne Bible Plan. New Testament and Psalms twice and the rest of the Bible once in a year. I have joined the men’s group at the Church I am a member of, and I enjoy the fellowship and meetings immensely. I have agreed to give my faith testimony in the future for a future event. I am probably one of the most unlikely people to become a Christian. I am excited for this and I have so much to say. Becoming a Christian is by far the most rewarding, life changing, and important things I’ve ever done. I can’t put into words what faith has done for me. I have been changed. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB1995 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
